Creeper; Notes: Vigorous creeper, growing on fine, grey sand in disturbed area on road verge. Also found in adjoining Aristida/Hyparrhenia grassland. Only male flowers seen, no fruits. Insect pollinators collected for identification. Locally abundant. Some individuals with leaves grey-green, prostrate; others deeper in bush with leaves yellow-green, upright, less incised.

Creeper; Notes: Prostrate, annual creeper. Great variation in leaves from deeply lobed to almost unlobed. Petals golden yellow. Fruits vary from pale green to dark green banded. Flesh pale green, not bitter but somewhat mealy. Sikululu (Lozi) is flesh made into porridge by local people. Seeds dispersed by elephants. Growing in mulapo grassland on road verge. Soil pH 8.

Growing together with Zehneria marlothii in Eragrostis grass-stand on fringes of mixed semi-deciduous woodland. Fine pale grey sand. Also seen: Acanthosicyos naudinianus, Citrullus lanatus.

Creeper; Notes: Cleared area in mixed semi-deciduous woodland. Soil pH 8,5. Annual creeper on road verge. Locally abundant together with Citrullus lanatus. Leaves scabrous. Flower petals golden yellow. Fruits plentiful, borne on long stalks, dark green riepening to golden yellow, extremely bitter. Pollinating beetles collected for id.

Annual climber on Acacia shrub. Locally abundant, but only 1 individual with ripe fruit. Leaves deeply incised, foetid when crushed. Flowers with creamy-yellow petals. Fruits with acute apex, dark green with white flecks ripening to bright red. Photos. Pollinating insects collected.

Climber; Notes: Delicate annual limber on undergrowth shrubs. Leaves deltoid in outline, 3 - 5 lobed, thin, slightly scabrous adaxially. Flowers minute; petals creamy white. Fruits globose although slightly flattened. Also seen: Citrullus lanatus, Momordica balsamina, Cucumis anguria, C metuliferus, Acanthosicyos naudinianus.
