World: plant names International Plant Names Index A database of the names and associated basic bibliographical details of seed plants, ferns and fern allies.
World: plant names The Plant List The Plant List is a working list of all known plant species. Version 1 aims to be comprehensive for species of Vascular plant (flowering plants, conifers, ferns and their allies) and of Bryophytes (mosses and liverworts).

Collaboration between the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and Missouri Botanical Garden enabled the creation of The Plant List by combining multiple checklist data sets held by these institutions and other collaborators.
TROPICOS Missouri Botanical Garden A searchable database of information held on plants at the Missouri Botanic Gardens. Emphasis is on the Americas, but there is much worldwide information as well.

Asclepiadaceae: genus Ceropegia The genus Ceropegia An interesting website concentrating on these unusual plants. Many beautiful images.
Fabaceae International Legume Database and Information Service Provides world-wide data on legumes and includes a searchable database.
Malvaceae Malvaceae Provides information on the family Malvaceae (including Bombacaeae, Sterculiaceae and Tiliaceae).
Orchidaceae Swiss orchid Foundation The Swiss Orchid Foundation was created on the death of Dr Jany Renz in order to maintain his sientific and cultural legacy. The site contains images, drawings, herbarium specimens and the largest database of worldwide orchid literature.
Orchidaceae Internet Orchid Species Photo Encyclopedia Another detailed and interesting site on orchids with over 8,000 images compiled by Jay Pfahl.
Orchidaceae Orchids of Central Africa A web site which is the product of collaborative work in Belgium and Central Africa by a team of 6 authors led by Dr Vincent Droissart. It currently contains 733 images of 214 taxa. Although the area covered is somewhat distant to us, there is still an overlap in the species covered.
Orchidaceae: genus Angraecum The genus Angraecum A sumptuously produced website which makes use of a number of images from our site.
Parasitic plants Parasitic Plants A site on parasitic and other plants reflecting the interests of Henning S. Heide-Jørgensen.
Parasitic plants The Parasitic Plant Connection This site is a compilation of information about parasitic plants by an active researcher in this field, Dan L. Nickrent. There is much of great interest, including some images taken by us.
Proteaceae Protea Atlas project This site records the progress in recording data about Proteaceae in Southern Africa and the work towards publication of a 'Protea Atlas'.
