Description: |
Stout rhizomatous perennial 0.6-1.2 m tall, with a creeping woody rhizome 4-6 mm wide, producing erect stems at 0.5-2 cm intervals, stem bases slightly swollen. Leaves hairy or hispid. Inflorescences simply spicate 5-10 cm long with many glomerules 1-2 cm apart each of 2-6 greenish or pale brown spikelets; glumes brown with green midrib. Nutlet 3.5-4.5mm long and at least 2 mm thick. |
