Description: |
Shrub or small tree, 1-3 m tall, sometimes scrambling up to 5 m. Leaves: petiole 0.3-1.1 cm; lamina 1-4.5 cm from base to tip of the lobes, lobed for a half to two-thirds of its length, glabrous above, pubescent beneath; base cordate. Inflorescences 3-15-flowered, densely crowded and forming leafy panicles. Hypanthium 0.5-1 cm long, tubular, tomentose to villous. Calyx 0.8 - 1.3 cm long. Petals pink, rarely white with ± undulate margins and a short claw. Fertile stamens 5; staminodes united in a strap. Pods 8-14 × 1.7-2.2 cm, dark reddish-brown. |
