Description:
Perennial herb with several flowering stems, 10-60 cm tall, growing from a woody rootstock. Leaves in a basal rosette, elliptic, oblong or spathulate, 1-2 cm long, sessile, densely white woolly on both sides; stem leaves, oblanceolate-oblong, up to 2 × 0.5 cm, becoming much smaller higher on the stems, covered in silvery silky hairs. Capitula in more or less dense terminal flattened corymbose heads, matted with dense woolly hairs below. Involucral bracts 3-4-seriate, c. 2.5 mm long, lanceolate, brownish-tipped with bright yellow, sometimes tinged brown. Florets bright yellow.

Worldwide distribution: Angola, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho and South Africa as far as Eastern Cape.
