Description: |
Mostly deciduous small tree or shrub, sometimes scrambling; branches slender, often with lenticels. Leaves opposite, oblong-elliptic to ovate or lanceolate, 2-11 cm long, hairless or sparsely to fairly densely appressed hairy, particularly on the midrib; petiole 2-7 mm long; stipules triangular at the base with long slender tip 6-8 mm long. Inflorescences axillary, umbel-like, 2-8-flowered, often together with the young leaves. Flowers, creamy-yellow or greenish-white; tube 2.5-4 mm long with a ring of deflexed hairs on the inside; corolla lobes 1.8-3 mm long, triangular or oblong. Fruit subglobose, 6-9 mm in diameter, black. |
