Description:
Trailing or twining annual. Leaves deeply pinnatifid, sessile, feather-like. Flowers in clusters of 1 to 3, white to yellow. Ovary with stiff, long hairs. Fruit an ovoid capsule, straw-coloured.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: pinnata: with pinnate leaves
Habitat: In mixed woodland, grassland, roadsides and cultivated land, often in rocky places.
Flowering time:Jan - Apr
Worldwide distribution: Widespread in tropical Africa and South Africa.
Growth form(s): Climber, annual.
