Description:
Low-growing succulent perennial. A dwarf form has been recorded from the lower Save Valley. Branches greyish-green, mottled darker green with long softly spine-like teeth. Flowers star-shaped, 6-10 cm in diameter with corolla tapering to a long point, lemon-yellow, spotted with purple; lobes often fringed with paddle-shaped purple hairs.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: caudata: abruptly ending in a long tail-like tip;
rhodesiaca: of rhodesia (now Zimbabwe).
Habitat: In areas of granite kopjes, growing in leaf litter under trees
Flowering time:
Worldwide distribution: Zimbabwe, northern Botswana and Caprivi-Namibia.
