| Description: |
Perennial herb or subshrub; stems unbranched or slightly branched, numerous from a thick woody rhizome. Inflorescence capitate, compact, terminal, 18-55(72)-flowered, 2.5-4 cm in diameter; peduncle 1-15 cm long, glabrous or pubescent, sometimes almost lacking. Bracts glabrous to densely pubescent or pilose, green, persistent. Flowers (4)5 merous, orange or yellow. |
