Description:
Prostrate perennial herb; young branchlets with densely yellowish rough hairs. Leaves oblong-ovate, up to 4 cm and 2 cm wide, appressed-pubescent with yellowish stellate hairs, veins somewhat impressed above and prominent below; margin often coarsely serrate or crenate; petiole up to 1 cm long; stipules up to 3 mm long, subulate. Flowers axillary, 1 or rarely 2 together, reflexed on slender peduncles up to 3 cm long. Calyx 6–7 mm long, with spreading or recurved narrowly triangular lobes up to 5 mm long, densely yellowish hairy outside. Petals spoon-shaped with inrolled margins c. 4 mm long, pink.. Capsule obovoid, c. 6 mm long, rounded or crowned with 5 short blunt truncate processes, with long yellowish hairs.

Habitat: Dry woodland, along roadsides and in grassland at the edge of seasonal swamps.
