Description: |
Perennial herbs 30-60 cm high, growing from corms. Leaves linear to narrowly lanceolate, 5-7 mm wide, usually slightly longer than the inflorescence, blue-green with a prominent midrib. Stems compressed and 2-winged below, 3-4-angled or winged above. Inflorescence divaricately branched, the ultimate branchlets 1-2-flowered. Flowers with a long slender tube, 25-40 mm long; mostly white, cream or pink but also mauve to purplish with dark marks on the lower tepals and a darker throat, opening late afternoon and sweetly scented. |
