Description: |
Tufted annual grass with culms 10–60 cm high. Leaves velvety pubescent. Inflorescence of 2–8 racemes, 1–7 cm long, bearing single spikelets in 2 neat rows on a 3-sided rhachis (rarely spikelets paired at base of longer racemes). Spikelets 2.7–4 mm long, hispidulous, borne on a stipe c. 0.5 mm long. Inferior glume 1/3–1/2 length of spikelet. Superior lemma with a rough surface. |
