| Notes: | Graminoid; Notes: Tender, tufted, perennial grass, up to 50 cm when in flower. Culms thick, fairly flaccid, mainly prostrate, bright green, canaliculate with dense long white indumentum. Leaf blade broadly linear, up to 40 x 2 cm, yellow-green with white adpressed indumentum, thinly textured. Ligule a dense band of long white hairs. Leaf sheath about 10 cm long, fairly loosely circumculmate. Inflorescence a spaced raceme, up to 3cm long. Spikelets arranged alternately in 2 rows, small, about 1.5 mm long, ovoid, 2-flowered. (lower male, upper female) Glume green to pink, smaller than spikelet. Lemma with fine white, inconspicuous indumentum, apex aristate. Anthers large, 1 mm long, well exerted; pollen golden yellow. In Terminalia sericea woodland. |
