Notes: | Shrub; Notes: Tall shrub, up to 2.5 m high. Stems woody with red-brown bark peeling off in grey papery layers; lateral branchlets often geniculate, red-brown with dense brown indumentum. Leaves alternate, simple; petiole short, 2 mm long, densely pubescent; stipule linear, caducous; lamina ovate-elliptic, apex acute, base rounded, slightly oblique, margin denticulate, 35 x 20 mm, dull olive-green, adaxially sparsely pubescent, abaxially conspicuously pubescent especially along reticulate venation. Flowers clustered in 2-4 's, axillary, at most 15 mm in diameter. Petals 5, free, narrowly obovate, shorter than sepals. Sepals 5, free, yellow to yellow-green, pubescent, lanceolate, 10-12 mm long, strongly recurved. Stamens numerous, golden yellow in central cluster. Fruit a berry, globose, undivided, 5 mm in diameter, green. sparsely pubescent. |
