Graminoid; Notes: Prostrate, creeping, perennial grass growing along water stream. Culms limp, prostrate, ascending somewhat apically to bear inflorescence, much branched, bright green with geniculate nodes dark-banded, glabrous, rooting from lower nodes. Leaf blade narrowly lanceolate, gradually tapering but apex obtuse, 10 - 20 cm long, up to 4 mm wide, expanded or folded, tip often withering and curled, bright green to purple-tinted, conspicuously white-ribbed, more or less glabrous, margins scabrous, base somewhat auriculate with collar brown and membranous. Ligule a membranous ridge bearing a short fringe of hairs, not extending onto collar. Leaf sheath loosely circumculmate, keeled, margins hyaline, upper margin densely ciliate, blue to bright green with various degree of purple-tinting, glabrous. Inflorescence a cylindrical spike, 10 - 12 x 2 - 3 mm, erect, rigid, straight to somewhat falcate. Spikelets sessile, densely arranged along axis, ovoid but flattened, ca. 5 x 1,5 mm. Glumes grey-green to purple, coriaceous, glaucous, adpressed against axis but apically reflexed. Stigma branches laterally exerted. Awnless. |
