Notes: | Notes: Low-growing, sub-aquatic perennial, 50-80 mm when in flower. Stem compact. Roots fibrous, red-coloured. Leaves fascicled, simple, subsessile; lamina elliptic, apex acute, base cuneate to decurrent, margin entire and conspicuously ciliate, 4 x 1 cm, adaxially yellow-green with scattered white adpressed indumentum, abaxially purple-tinted with dense indumentum of same type as above, fairly erect and not prostrate on substrate, coriaceous. Flowers borne in axillary racemes with normally only 1 flower opening at a time, 5 mm in diameter, bilabiate; peduncle slender, green, 3-4 cm long, densely pubescent. Floral bracts foliaceous, paired, green, conspicuously ciliate and pubescent; petals fused, blue to purplish with white puckered striations and yellow throat. Terminalia sericea predominant. |
