| Notes: | Herb; Notes: Bushy, annual herb, 30 cm high. Stems rigid, articulated, dichotomously branched, green-brown with dense, white, scabrous indumentum. Leaves opposite but often clustered, simple, subsessile; lamina obovate, apex acute, base cuneate, margin entire but sinuate, dull green, thinly textured both surfaces densely pubescent, persistent, up to 30 x 12 mm. Inflorescence solitary, axillary, subsessile, partially hidden by foliar leaves, 7-8 mm in diameter. Florets yellow, inconspicuous. Fruit a spiny achene. (Exotic - from Brazil = a weed in cultivated fields) |
