Stems rigid, sturdy, densely branched, basally woody, yellow-green, finely fluted, with extremely dense long, yellow-brown, hirsute indumentum. Leaves alternate, imparipinnately compounded; stipules paired, lanceolate, up to 15 x 1.5 mm, green, recurved, pubescent, persistent; petiole slender, 3.5 - 4 cm long, rigid, acute, pubescent; lamina obovate in outline; rhachis 4-15 cm long bearing 4 - 10 pinna pairs and 1 terminal pinna; pinna elongate-ovate, 20-60 x 4-8 mm, apex notched, minutely mucronate, base cuneate, shortly stalked, margin entire, grey-green with dense white adpressed indumentum, midrib yellowish, prominent. Inflorescence an axillary raceme, up to 30 cm long borne on stout, extremely densely pubescent panicle. Flowers 15 mm long. Petals mauve.
