Glabrous or pubescent, unarmed shrubs or small trees, often scrambling. Flowers small, in axillary or terminal panicles. Calyx campanulate, 4–toothed; corolla campanulate, lobes imbricate, shortly joined at base, elliptic, obtuse. Fruit a globose drupe. Derivation of name: after Juan Salvador y Bosca (1598-1681), a plant collector from Barcelona, Spain. Worldwide: Four species from South Africa through Arabia to India and China. Caprivi: 2 taxa. |
