Description of the genus

Trees, shubs (in ours) or suffrutices. Leaves 1-pinnate, imparipinnate; margin (in ours) serrate, the serrations extending into long bristles. Umbels compound. Bracts and bracteoles several, filiform. Calyx teeth minute. Flowers appearing before the leaves. Fruit ovate to obovate, strongly dorsally flattened with a broad commissure; lateral wings well developed but not thickened; dorsal ribs filiform.

Worldwide: 3 species extending from Ethiopia to South Africa

Caprivi: 1 taxon.
