Synonyms: Ascolepis bellidiflora (Welw.) Cherm.
Common names:
Description: Tufted perennial herb, up to 50 cm high, growing from a slender rhizome, sometimes bulbous at the base. Leaves up to 20 cm long, less than half the length of the culm, pale green. Involucral bracts up to 10 but mostly 5-6, filiform, up to 15 cm long, pale green, often with red glandular dots. Inflorescence subglobose or hemispherical, 10-40 mm in diameter; glumes 4-10 mm long, white or pale yellow. Nutlets obovoid, c. 1 mm long, dark reddish-brown, papillose to densely tuberculate.
